Well from what I see, I AM the only person disturbed by a titan under MK, so
I'll just table that for now in favor of the current issue. Yes, killing
people in cold blood is horrifying. Even when you consider that they were
evil, they were still 'human' keepers as someone pointed out and likely to
get lots of sympathy for it. If it were 20 lutins, then indeed there would
be no problem whatsoever and your story probably should make a point of
mentioning how a group of people so afflicted should not be so closeminded.
They may try to point out that MK is at war with the lutins, but Yvarra can
just as easily point out that she was at war with the cultists too. Again
they can point out that there were other ways to deal with the threat to her
life without killing them all, but Yvarra isn't weighing their lives against
her life, but rather against the life of everyone in the keep. This titan
gets summoned and a lot of people are going to die. Sure she may have gone
overboard and killed some people that weren't involved (which she may not
believe, but others might), but the fact that time was limited and she was
fighting a battle for the entirety of MK if not a whole lotta surrounding
area as well might just give her some brownie points and lessen her
punishment. This is of course assuming she can convince the people judging
her that this is indeed what happened and the cultists WERE trying to summon
said titan. Of course, as Matt and later Olsen said, the watch investigating
these deaths would serve this purpose very well. It's quite easy to see the
judgement that Yvarra handled the situation badly, but also as well as she
was able to. She gets punished for killing the 20 or so people without
'sufficient proof' but not too severely because she also saved the lives of
the thousand or so (I honestly can't remember how many people are in Metamor
Keep) people that would have likely been killed. I figure it's a tough
situation, but not exactly unworkable.
