[Mkguild] Fireworks and their alternatives

I dont know if anyone has read the wheel of time series but they have a
group of people that specialize in fireworks they are known as the
iliumination guild or some such (been awhile since i read it;)
but they know the secret to launching fireworks and they guard almost with
the same zeal as the country of whales defends whalish fire.. you could have
a rouge or escaping person from across the ocean that
was expelled from the group/guild and escaped before his/her execution come
to metamor to escape the assasins (not that different of a plot) and as a
show of good faith (or mabey to smite his former comrads) creats a firework
dispaly for metamor...then eventually mabey the longs would find a use for
something like a bottle rocket to signal attacks or to call for help...
