    The graying lion-man brushed the tassel of his night-cap out of his eye=
s and watched the pack of canine Keepers scrambled out of sight into the da=
rkness before slamming the window shut.  "Blasted noisy kids."

    Back in bed, his wife just shook her head and smiled in wry amusement. =
 No matter the changes the Curse brought, teenagers would still be teenager=
s, and grumpy old men would still be grumpy old men.  She wrapped her husba=
nd in her arms when he climbed back under the covers, and kissed him anyway.
