Hey gang!

Something that happens in Chapter 73 of the Last Tale of Yajakali may
affect everyone at Metamor. This does mean this message has a
spoiler for Chapter 73, so if you don't want to be spoiled, go read
the chapter first then come back to this message.

Okay, here's what happens. Around 12:11 AM on December 23rd, 707 CR,
the backlash of the magic concentrated at Marzac will sweep through
Metamor Valley. It will be seen by anyone awake at the time as a
wall of intersecting lines of light moving faster than the
wind. This is pure magical energy, so any spell it passes through
will for a single moment be strengthened to herculean
proportions. For most Keepers, this will do nothing. Magic users
will feel the spike in energy, but they won't be able to take advantage of it.

However, anyone in the Valley not touched by the Curse will for a few
seconds be claimed by it. If they are asleep, then they may discover
shed fur in their bed the next morning or something like that. Those
awake will see themselves shift, and then a few seconds later, return
to their original form. What happens is that the Curse, with all
that extra magic, is able to claim them, but once the magic goes
away, it looses its hold over them and they go back to
normal. However, if they stick around, the Curse will claim them the
normal way. Think of it as a preview of coming attractions for the uncursed.

Okane has told me this is okay. It shouldn't affect anybody's
plotlines, but if folks are up at that hour, they'll get to see the
wall of magic. Just thought I'd give everybody a head's up.

To further place this in the chronology, Misha's Yule party is the
evening of Dec. 23rd, and Duke Thomas's wedding is Dec 24th.

I'll better explain things if anybody has any questions. Happy reading. :-)

May He bless you and keep you in His grace and love,

Charles Matthias
