Since everyone seems to have given their €0,02 I guess I’ll give mine. I favour the curse reducing at the speed of plot. Otherwise we’d be locking people into a timeframe that might not be feasible. I know that this is a fantasy setting and that in such a setting everything has to make sense, unlike the real world.
But giving people room to bend without breaking the spirit rules would be more convenient for most parties involved.

As far as I remember, the 'quick reset' has already been described in canon. Besides which, it's magic- it doesn't have to make sense. If you want to go that route, why does it take so long for the Curse to kick in? Why doesn't it start changing somebody the moment they enter the Valley?
