Sir TalfreyAtherburr had not expected this problem. As the Feudal lord of the town of Aldenburghhe had long ago accepted that things were quiet here. He liked that. The mostdifficult thing he usually had to do was judge the occasional drunk and thepetty disputes of his people. But the issue for today truly amazed him.

 

   Seated across the table from his was anotter and a fox. Both were those cursed people many were now calling morphs.

 

   They were well dressed and the otter had a good-sizedsword in a sheath on her belt. The fox only had a dagger. It didn’t mean hewasn’t armed. It meant Talfrey just couldn’t see it.

 

   The knight bowed to the couple. “It is botha pleasure and an honor to meet you.”

 

   Misha nodded his head. "It's a pleasureto meet you Sir Atherburr! We know this must come as a great surprise, but weneed your help."

 

   "I am honored to have such a esteemedgroup of visitors. How can I be of help?"

 

   "Caroline and I are to be wed thisMidsummer and we are expecting a large amount of guests." "Most ofthese guests are still human, but they may be here a fortnight or more,"said Caroline. 

 

   "And you want to rent some of my town’sbuildings?" He asked. A Bit confused.

 

   "Yes. We need somewhere for people tostay outside the Curse," said Misha. "There shouldn't betrouble," Caroline was quick to add, "but both Midtown and Lasselleare going to be filled, and we know there will be other people needing a placeto stay." "We tried Lanton, but Baron Grenier was less thancooperative."

 

   "Grenier is a self-serving fool,"Talfrey commented. "He's too ambitious for his own good."

 

   The two nod in agreement "That's why wecame to you. Your town is ideally placed for anyone coming up from Menth, whichwill likely include Phil, Clover, and their retinue," said Caroline."Some of my family may be coming this way too," said Misha,"though thankfully not my brother Brian."

 

   "Oh? Something wrong with your brother?Kin of yours is always welcome here."

 

   "That is very kind of you, but Brian isa grandstander," said Misha. "I wouldn't inflict him on anyone exceptmaybe Nasoj. He's liable to come through with a magical circus."

 

   The knight laughed. "I know that kindof person. I have an aunt like that, any visit of hers is a grandadventure!"

 

   "She awlays has to have theattention."

 

 

   Misha and Caroline laugh. "Oh he's anadventure alright!" said Misha. "And just like your aunt that way.We're already imposing on your hospitality by wanting to rent out the town tohelp. I don't want to cause strain because Brian's brought dancing pinkelephants or Eli knows what with him."

 

   He laughs, "What do you need from meand my people? How places do you need to rent?"

 

   "Uh, well, everything? I think?"

 

   "Everything? You mean the entiretown?" He asked incredulously.

 

   "Yeah. If you and your people arewilling," said Caroline. "We don't know who might come here and whatmight happen." "We're not expecting anyone will cause trouble,"said Misha, "but accidents happen and I'd rather make sure you and yourpeople feel safe and comfortable."

 

   "We have been dealing with Metamor fora long time," the knight answered. "I seriously doubt there could beanything that happens we cannot handle.”

 

   Mnisha nodded his head in approval. “Good.Then let’s talk numbers and prices.”
