[Mkguild] Running Wild (part 2 of ?)

Valid points on all sides here. Yes Canines are popular, but they are what we know and are familiar with. I have to admit myself, my second Character was a type of fox, and it wasn't until my third story that I added someone not of the animal persuasion. At this point I can think of eleven foxes in stories; Virmir (silver?), Misha (red), Fox Cutter (red), Daniel (corsac), Joanne Hunter (gray), Anton (gray), Magus (red), Nahum (arctic?), Ryuo Musashinari (kitsune), Varnal (red), and now Alan (red). Correct me if I missed someone, which is quite possible, but even so only five of them are actually the same, and several are rarely used and or their authors have moved on. There is also Madog, who is modeled on a fox, but I'm not quite sure he counts. Give it time and I'm sure the species, and curse type base will spread out more. I know that I spent quite a bit of time figuring out which species to use, and I'm sure newer authors will as well once they get a toehold
 established.

P.S. I agree with Chris about the bugs, if a five foot tall spider shows up at the smithy they had better watch out for flying hammers. *shudders*

abundance of fox characters in MK! But we do need to remember it's a
personal choice what people use. I have to admit I am as guilty as all
the rest having no less then 3 canines!

We do need to push little used species more. But I refuse to do any
insects like cockroaches - those are way too icky!!!!

I'm not trying to discourage you from contributing. You should write
about what you want to write about. Nor were my comments intended to
be callous. My comments were a statement of frustration born out of
what appears to be a broad commonality amongst more recently
introduced characters.

I love dogs, and if not for my own dog, I would not be as
well-adjusted as I am. I have nothing against dogs or foxes per se.

I'm sorry I upset you. But of the new characters introduced in the
last few months, almost every single one is either a fox or a dog.

Again, I'm sorry. Please forgive my outburst.

May He bless you and keep you in His grace and love,

Charles Matthias
