All of Charles' points are very valid indeed.
=A0
Yes, the Watch will investigate.
Yes, the Keep Guard, the Mages, The Knights of the Red Stallion, the butche=
r, the baker, and the candlestick maker are going to investigate.=A0 20 peo=
ple have been rather brutally slain in their sleep, after all!
Now, they will indeed find some incriminating doo-dads in the homes of the =
initial victims.=A0 As it gets out that some unknown is gutting their numbe=
rs the cultists will be looking out for that person, and her victims, to tr=
y to kill her or clean up the evidence that they were anything but innocent.
=A0
Once someone puts it together, Misha will likely marshal some Longs, and Ge=
orge a few of his military, and dispatch a sizable posse to find out where =
the hell this cult is located.=A0 They might not figure out it's hiding som=
ewhere deep in the guts of the mountains below Metamor, leastwise not right=
off, giving Yvarra time to find, engage, and emerge victorious... alone.
Unless she can provide difinative proof of both the cult, its members, thei=
r activities, and that it's been eliminated she will likely face a lot more=
than just 'prison time'.=A0 Even *with* this proof she's going to face som=
e justice if for nothing else than 20 cases of vigilantism that resulted in=
death... and remember, some of those dead *will* have been 'cleaned' befor=
e the Watch arrived to investigate.

Okay, I think folks are pretty sure they don't like the idea of =
Yvarra killing people in their bed, or at least, that their ought to =
be repurcussions for it.
However, we are forgetting one thing and I think this could help Bard =
with his story and provide Yvarra the cover she needs not to be executed.
The Watch will certianly investigate these deaths. In the course of =
doing so, it seems clear to me that they are going to learn about the =
cult themselves. This will make them very uneasy as now they have to =
deal with the fact that they have a cult that is acting against the =
interests of Metamor right under their very snouts! And from the =
looks of things somebody in the order is cleaning house.
How would they know the cult is evil? Well, the library is very =
extensive, and the items that are in cult member's houses can very =
likely point them toward the intention of the cult form some tome in =
the library. Once they are sure of this, I bet the Watch would be =
very interested in trying to figure out who else is a cultist.
Since Yvarra would be discovered in the end, if her motivations can =
be uncovered and she can prove she is not a member of this cult and =
if she can convince folks that she was acting in Metamor's best =
interest, a death sentence could be commuted (but she's still doing some
time).
That's my read on this whole thing.
May He bless you and keep you in His grace and love,
Charles Matthias
