[Mkguild] The archive is down!

Ok. I am starting to panic at this point. The archive is down!

When you try and get to the website all you get is this message:

Xepher.net is currently experiencing problems.

Sorry for the trouble, but I'll try to have it back up ASAP.

Apparently this new host simply can't handle the load, so

I'm moving us to a new one again. It's going very slowly...

Update 06:41 CST: 25% transfered. This is also stupidly slow.

I think it may be better than the first, but not a long term solution.

Update 07:30 CST: 30% transfered. Frak it! I'm buying a physical server.

Update 07:44 CST: Physical server on order with the planet.

Dual core, 4GB ram, 2x250GB disks, and for less than this VM.

I'm told it usually takes about a day to set that up. In the

meantime, I'll try to get us limping along on the VM.

Update 07:50 CST: Email is likely going down soon, and we'll switch

to partial service on the new system, with websites coming up as they're

transfered. Email will be the last to come back on last, to avoid

any lost messages.

Update 08:45 CST: The Planet just told me my server will "probably"

be setup in 2-3 hours. The move to this new VM won't even be done by

then, so if that happens, we'll just move straight into the physical

machine. Keep your fingers crossed.

Update 11:45 CST: I got the new server online an hour ago. I'm think

I'm just about done configuring it, then I just have to sync data.

Update 12:45 CST: Failure! System wouldn't boot. I've ordered KVM so

I'll have full console access. Soon as they get that setup, should be

about 60 minutes work still, then syncing. I did manage to sync about

20% of the user data in advance (before I crashed it) and it goes

REALLY fast, so that's good.
