[Mkguild] MKGuild Digest, Vol 40, Issue 32

I'm going to spend some time this weekend reading it over
to make sure I corrected most of the errors, also fix the ending to make it easier to transition to the next story. When I submit the second
draft I will make sure it's in the email itself. Thanks for the feedback, will be more careful of checking my work and not trust word as much with pointing out some bad grammar errors.

The story needs to be posted in plain text to the list.  Attachment in
this (docx) or other formats can be used when it is reviewed and moved
to the archive but until then the best way is to do a cut and paste to
notepad followed by cut and paste from notepad into your mail client.

A list uncle will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's the standard..

This certainly expresses the feeling of a newly changed well and I like
the underlying theme of him trying to find himself again.  Just a couple
of things I came across while reading.

Do you mean "They don't have to."

The ending is a bit odd (which could also simply be my personal taste)
and I'm not entirely sure about the getting jailed.  But still not a bad
opening story or at least a story to get your feet on the ground in the
MK universe.

Being a Geek, I keep up with technology and had no problems opening the
file :P.  BTW, when saving docs in the newer Word, there is an option to
save in a compatible mode for earlier versions.

I enjoyed the story, but it needs editing, several sentences seemed to
be missing words.  You are probably like me, my mind gets ahead of my
typing and I skip a few words now and then.

The list controller here to explain things.

The Mailing list engine is a bit weird and can be (VERY) picky at times.
For the best results a story should be posted by cutting and pasting
directly into the body of the email. Another minor worry is the email cannot
be more then 8k long (which works out to be around 8 - 9 pages of text). If
you do go over the limit you'll get a warning about it. And so will I. I
then go into the control panel and manually release it.

If its longer then the 8k limit simply break it up into multiple parts. I
hold the record for the most parts. Winter Assault took lover 100 parts and
the better part of a year to post! but that was over 600 pages long. As a
warning the list engine tends to lose things like italics and bold settings
which I find very annoying.

If you need to post with an attachment its best to use something fairly
widespread like .doc, .rtf or .txt. The list engine seems to prefer .rtf -
I've no idea why. There are problems with the .docx format that I just found
out about - it seems older versions of Word CANNOT read it for legal
reasons. Very annoying as I like it!

BTW - to get a story into the archive you need to send the story to
Virmir and that CAN be an attachment with all the correct settings and
italics and stuff!

I hope this helps and doesn't confuse you.

If you have any questions feel free to ask,
