Malger's a fop, and would be dressed accordingly.

Misanthe an aristocratic version of a Gypsy dress; not a full court dress, but something that flows, bloused mid-forearm.

 

For their poses - Malger sitting insouciant on a table, one foot propped in a chair, playing a viola, a flaggon of ale by his side.  Misanthe nearby (how to show them as a couple could be a challenge, there) playing tambour while dancing the Tarantella, perhaps with a wine glass held up in one hand (not sloshing, either).

Sounds ok to me. The scene as described sounds like the characters are spread out across the banner. A good use of space. All of them are doing something that’re believable in the setting.

 

For me the things that I wonder about are minor details: What clothes are they wearing? (something casual? evening wear?) Their level of inebriation (scaling from: sober, loose, volunteering for karaoke, dancing to music that isn’t playing, comatose, beyond reviving) What instruments are used for the duet?

 

And maybe some useless details like an abandoned game of cards littering the table with one or some of the players having aces falling from their sleeves as they pull/resist getting pulled from their seats.

 

In short: I agree with this scene
