[Mkguild] Regular visits to MK

It takes time for the magic to build up in someone enough.  The countermagics are as active as the curse is and working against it every step of the way which slows it down considerably. It does not start manifesting until it reaches a maximum energy state.Mages are no more swift in being caught than normals, just to point out, as the magic that they use is not associated with the subtle trickle that the curse is seeping into them. And the curses were keyed specifically to 'human', so any amount of non-human (kitsune, elf, ect ect) will slow it down even further or prevent it taking hold at all (I would hazard to say that more than 1/20th non-human stock would thwart the curse entirely).  However, extraplanar spirits using a mortal host - demons, angels, fae and the like (as much as I loathe the idea of such entities) are NOT immune, as the flesh they're using is still human.

I've absolutely got to have a character now who comes to the valley, stays for 13 days and then leaves for half an hour thinking that'll "Reset the clock."  Oh God it would be fun to do a comedy story about something like that, or someone trying to use science to approach a curse that runs on Plot.

Keep in mind the travel times involved, and the amount of time and moneyit took to mount a venture in the first place!  Further, some ofthese merchants will be carrying goods from Metamor down to places a weekor more away from the Curse, Ellcaran, Kelewair, Elvquelin, even Marigundor Salinon.  It's at LEAST two months by carriage to Marigund ingood weather.

May He bless you and keep you in His grace and love,

Anyway, as to the argument about the time duration being too long: That is exactly how it is supposed to be and should be.  If peoplecan just flit in and out every day without any fear or risk of the curseit looses its impact.
And an outside estimation of two days beyond the curse per day spentwithin - with the current manifestation time of 14 days - is merely onemonth.  That is not a great deal of time and certainly notonerous.

      - but waiting months between visits seems excessively longtime.
