Let me clarify something here...
There is NO immortality.

There is longevity, yes, but even beings with lifespans of thousands of yea=
rs (Aelfs, Fallen Gods, Dragons) eventually age and expire, or commit suici=
de, or are outright slaughtered (the Fallen Gods will have to deal with thi=
s as their auspices are adopted by the person who kills them, but NOT their=
 alignment...)

There is going to be a major schizm upcoming with the completion of the Sta=
rchild arc as some writers are amenable to Raven's proposed future (where t=
he chosen Avatars of the Fallen Gods are given god-like longevity), whereas=
 others are not.=A0 I am mixed... the idea of a tortured near-immortal is a=
 very interesting one, but if canon does not favor that then... that is how=
 it will be.

But, as for outright immortality, bar the overseers of the Heavens (Eli, th=
e Pantheon while in their heavenly/hellish realms) all beings age and die..=
. or wear out (Omega, Madog).

Heh, seems a lot like being worried about whether the chicken or the
egg came first in the MK universe.

That said you might want to stop reading this e-mail if you want to
save yourself some stress, Matty.

We already have several immortal beings recognized.  The entire
Pantheon, Kyia, Omega, and arguably Madog.  Pseudo characters include
Cenziga, Whisper, and all of her sisters.  One might point out that of
these, only Omega was ever possibly a main character, and he didn't
see much use before his author went idle.

Additionaly we do have Raven's Star Child arc coming, and I'm not sure
what Merai's canon lifespan is after that, or whether any of the
Pantheon will subsequently become main characters

I don't really have a stance on the issue one way or another for the
already mentioned reason, I just like the opportunity to compare
trivia.
